Gujarat Election Results: If the predictions of the exit polls come true, then the BJP government can be formed for the seventh consecutive time in Gujarat. The exit poll figures are not clear about the result of Himachal Pradesh. There are some signs of change in the neck-and-neck contest between the BJP and Congress, but there is no uniformity. Now on December 8, it will be clear from the results in whose hands the power will come. According to exit polls, BJP can win 117-148 seats in Gujarat. The Congress is expected to get 30-51 seats and the Aam Aadmi Party 3-13. The BJP’s best performance in the Gujarat Assembly was in 2002 when it got 127 seats. By the way, Congress holds the record of winning the maximum number of seats in Gujarat when it won 149 out of 182 seats in the 1985 elections. Then the magic of Congress leader Madhav Singh Solanki worked. However, if some exit polls are to be believed then BJP can break this record. In this exit poll, Aaj Tak has predicted a maximum of 151 seats for BJP, and News 24 has predicted 150 seats. If this happens, it will be the biggest victory in the history of Gujarat assembly elections.
This is how BJP grew in Gujarat
- 1990 Assembly Elections: 67 seats
- 1995 Assembly Elections: 121 seats
- 1998 Assembly Elections: 117 seats
- 2002 Assembly Elections: 127 seats
- 2007 Assembly Elections: 117 seats
- 2012 Assembly Elections: 115 seats
- 2017 Assembly Elections: 99 seats
- 2022 Assembly Elections: ???? seats
In Gujarat, the BJP seems to be maintaining its performance for three decades. Being the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, all eyes are on Gujarat. If the BJP makes a strong comeback, it will be clear that AAP has caused a lot of damage to Congress, which had given a tough fight to the ruling BJP five years ago.
It will also be clear that the atmosphere which is said to have been created in favor of the Congress by Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra did not reach Gujarat. Most of the polls have expressed the possibility of the BJP getting an average of 125 seats. The Aam Aadmi Party, which contested the elections with the help of the Delhi model, seems to be snatching away the land of the Congress.
